SUNFLOWERS

It's been a while since I posted a real painting. So much time has been spent on other things lately, so I am making a personal commitment to post more. I have spent the last year working diligently for a NYTimes bestselling author, and have picked up 2 more authors along the way. I have learned so much about books, writing, and the publishing industry. I have spent a lot of time doing makeup as well, and painting has taken somewhat of a backseat. HOWEVER, I am back! The fire to paint has been rekindled inside of me, and I am excited about my immediate future. I have many ideas in the forefront of my mind waiting to come out. Stay tuned!

makeup art- photo shoot and fashion show

fashion!!!!! so i just finished several makeup projects....a photo shoot with model garland baugh, and a George Ohr "alice in wonderland" themed fashion show. It was such a blast, and nice to be able to do really artistic things with the models. Halloween was pretty booked as well, hopefully i will have pics of that soon. still have many paintings to complete by christmas....busy busy busy

OLE MISS DOOR HANGERS

i finished my first ole miss door hanger and sent it off to it's new home! i have been so so busy that i am having to stay up to all hours of the night to get it all done. NOT COMPLAINING!!! between my art business, makeup business, kids, husband, church, and calligraphy on the side, my house looked like it didn't make it through a tornado until a few hours ago. i finally forced myself to get it under control today. back to the drawing board!!! few more orders to catch up on, more wedding invitations to address, and family to take care of. I feel very blessed for my work and my fam! after tackling colonel reb, i do believe i am up for any college or pro mascot challenge. so bring it on!

i am still up to my elbows in paintings, but am loving this too. faces are the best canvases in the world!

FACES BY MISTY

so my canvases lately have been faces, and it has been wonderful. I have done hair and makeup for years in addition to regular paintings and murals. I am hoping to get back into it more and more now that the fire has been lit inside of me again. PAINTING FACES

SO.....i took a small break from painting canvases to go paint faces for a couple of days. MAKEUP for all of you who think i meant clown paint. i had a wonderful opportunity to work with Associated Television International Los Angeles as a makeup artist for a concert documentary they did called "the gulf is back." other than smoothing out bo bice's hair on stage, i got to work as the makeup artist for ace young, taylor hicks, drake bell, kyle and chris massey, ricky skaggs and band, terri clark, lonestar, and assisted with david hasselhoff. we had a great time, and i realized how much i miss doing this. it has been a while since i have worked as a makeup artist because the hours are so demanding and i have 2 little ones. hopefully i can still do it from time to time just for the experience of it. i really did have the time of my life! i took NO pictures at all...:( ....but luckily a friend of a friend took this one. it's the only one i have!
