so my canvases lately have been faces, and it has been wonderful. I have done hair and makeup for years in addition to regular paintings and murals. I am hoping to get back into it more and more now that the fire has been lit inside of me again. PAINTING FACES

SO.....i took a small break from painting canvases to go paint faces for a couple of days. MAKEUP for all of you who think i meant clown paint. i had a wonderful opportunity to work with Associated Television International Los Angeles as a makeup artist for a concert documentary they did called "the gulf is back." other than smoothing out bo bice's hair on stage, i got to work as the makeup artist for ace young, taylor hicks, drake bell, kyle and chris massey, ricky skaggs and band, terri clark, lonestar, and assisted with david hasselhoff. we had a great time, and i realized how much i miss doing this. it has been a while since i have worked as a makeup artist because the hours are so demanding and i have 2 little ones. hopefully i can still do it from time to time just for the experience of it. i really did have the time of my life! i took NO pictures at all...:( ....but luckily a friend of a friend took this one. it's the only one i have!

MELLOW FEST!!!

SO.....mellow fest is tomorrow and weather.com says lots and lots of rain. hmmmmm.......sure do hope not. i am very excited either way. they are supposed to have 4 good bands to listen to while i am dying of a heatstroke in my art tent. if you are in the area stop by! it is from 3-midnight. if you are not in the area, you are missing out on a really fun night!

FINISHED! with one that is.....plenty more to be painted in the next couple of days. I am selling these for only $55 with personalization included. they will be coated with polyurethane so they will be safe to hang outside on the front door all football season long. if you have another team that you want represented, don't hesitate to ask!

ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST!

frantically painting to get ready for mellow fest!!! i have had a lot of requests for the fleur de lis, so i have painted a few more. this one is still wet, so it's a little glossy looking in the picture. i am about finished with a saints front door hanger, so i will post pics of that next!

GEAUX SAINTS!!!!

football season is practically here again, which means lots and lots of fleur de lis. i love to paint them in all shapes, sizes, and colors, not just black and gold. i am in the process of making saints front door hangers, and i will post pics soon when i get one finished. what a perfect way to greet your guests!

RETURN TO JOY!

as my friends will testify, my art has gone through a "dark period" over the past few months. (other than my children's paintings of course...haha) luckily for you, i did not document most of these paintings with my camera. i just didn't "feel it" so to speak. HOWEVER......i woke this morning with an inspiration and a vision that was full of color. I called my husband at work and told him that he must come home because i had to paint!!! the last two days have been great with the Lord, and i have had a renewed faith and a return to joy. since my mood typically manifests itself through my art, this painting is the result. Many more to come as i am getting ready for mellow fest next weekend. if anyone is in the area, come by! there are supposed to be saints players there....it is sponsored by the sean payton foundation.
